Kiersten Sheets of Trajectory Energy Partners attended the July 11 meeting of the Brimfield Village Board to answer questions regarding a proposed community solar project. According to Trajectory’s presentation materials, the company is, “working with Brimfield CUSD 309 on a community solar project on school land in the Village of Brimfield. The site can host a 2MWac community solar project that could serve the Brimfield CUSD facilities and other local subscribers”.

Village Attorney Bill Atkins said he received good comments from the Brimfield Zoning Board on the suggested ordinance language regarding the project, but said the language will need tweaking before being presented to the board for its Aug. 1 meeting. The Brimfield Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 6 p.m. in the Village Hall to hear the request for a special use from Trajectory Energy Partners for the 12-acre project. Village Board member Paul Dye expressed concern that the solar field would be too close to a street and proximity to other structures. A concern over continuing cost related to a three year permit was addressed by Sheets, who said it will be a one-time cost.
