Dani was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago and now resides in Dolton, IL, on the city’s outskirts. She is a junior at Union College in Schenectady, New York, pursuing a B.A. in Economics and Africana Studies to examine the social disparities of the African diaspora. She found Trajectory by applying to the Empowering Diverse Climate Talent (EDICT) internship program. Over the summer of 2023, she interned at Trajectory as a Solar Analyst Intern, assisting with neighbor mailing, researching policies and community stakeholders, and tackling additional work as needed. Currently, she works remotely as a Solar Project and Research Associate while in school.
Dani is particularly interested in Environmental Justice in marginalized communities and how we can make solar more affordable and accessible. She is the co-president of the Black Student Union on her campus and founded a NAACP collegiate chapter at her school to advocate for climate equity and bring awareness to the disparities certain communities disproportionately face. She is also looking towards a career in law, where she hopes to advocate for fair, equitable access to housing in the US.
You can find her enjoying the Schenectady Green Market every Sunday, facetiming her two cats and dog, Bandit, Bela & Bruce, and volunteering on campus whenever she can.
