Sydney grew up in Charlottesville, VA and attended James Madison University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Integrated Science and Technology with a concentration in Energy. An ABET accredited program. During her time at JMU she fell in love with the energy industry and was excited to start her career post-graduation.
After college, she had the opportunity to work a few roles within the energy and renewable space. She has spent much of her career working in renewable development focusing on solar and battery storage. She started her development career at NextEra Energy based in Juno Beach, FL where she led the early-stage development efforts in Arkansas for their utility-scale renewable portfolio. During her tenure at NextEra, she also worked on the late-stage development team, following the projects she started in early-stage development through the project’s full development life. While in Florida, she also completed her MBA with a concentration in Finance from Florida Atlantic University.
After getting married Sydney and her husband, Ross, decided to move to Charlottesville, VA to be closer to family. This transition led to the opportunity to lead the ERCOT team at East Point Energy where she developed stand-alone battery storage projects through the entire development life of the project.
She is incredibly excited to be managing a team at Trajectory Energy overseeing distribution solar and battery storage projects in Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio. Trajectory’s community-minded values and success are a great fit for her, and she feels honored to be a part of the team.
