Ryan Granholm

Ryan is a lifelong Midwesterner. He was born and raised outside of Chicago, before moving to Indiana to attend Indiana University and then the University of Notre Dame Law School.

Throughout his legal career in Chicago, Ryan’s practice has focused on the electric generating industry. Prior to joining Trajectory, Ryan was an associate in the Energy & Environmental practice group at ArentFox Schiff LLP, where he counseled wind, solar, battery, and pipeline developers on state policy and utility regulatory issues as well as local siting and permitting. Ryan has also assisted large independent power producers across the Midwest with regulatory compliance and enforcement defense. Ryan was also previously a staff attorney at the Illinois Commerce Commission, where he litigated contested electric, natural gas, and water utility regulatory proceedings.

Ryan is passionate about growing renewable energy in the Midwest and across the country. As a proud community solar subscriber himself, Ryan is excited to have a hands-on-role in bringing the benefits of clean, affordable energy to more landowners, subscribers, and communities. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys biking around Chicago and likes to get out of the city as often as possible to ski, hike, and camp.
