Bluestem Solar is Trajectory's first project developed in Livingston County, IL. The landowners, a local farming family, were looking for ways to diversify their income stream and keep their land in their family for future generations. Since their farming income fluctuated year over year, the family decided solar would be the best way to gain a steady income from the land.
Not only will Bluestem Solar bring additional revenue to the landowners, but it will also create a safer roadway for local residents. The intersection where the project is located has seen multiple car accidents due to crops being planted right up to the edge of the road, making it difficult for drivers to see oncoming traffic. The setback area created by the solar array will make it easier for drivers to see and create a safer roadway for all. In addition, once the project is energized, local community solar subscribers will receive a discount on their electric bill.
I’m going to keep farming until I can’t do it anymore, but I need solar to make sure my nieces and nephews can make a living in our community.
