Utility-Scale Solar
Earp Solar is a 35MW utility-scale solar array that sits on 260 acres of land in Monmouth, Illinois. The land is owned by two brothers who have been farming the land for generations. With their farming income fluctuating year after year, they saw solar as a way to create a steady income stream for themselves. In 2019, they connected with Trajectory to learn more about how they can begin to “farm the sun.” Trajectory worked closely with the landowners to build support around the project, which was energized in 2024.
We like providing clean energy to the grid and feel good about the investment to ‘save’ the land for future use and generations to farm again or do as they choose.
