Illinois Solar for All (Community Solar)
Gooseberry Solar is a 2 MW solar array located in Ford Heights, Illinois in Southern Cook County. Like many urban areas, it faces its share of economic challenges. Through the Illinois Solar for All program, Trajectory saw an opportunity to reduce the utility bills of low-income residents while providing access to clean, renewable energy.
From navigating zoning regulations to fostering meaningful partnerships within the community, every step of the process required careful planning and collaboration. We worked closely with local stakeholders, including city officials and community leaders, to ensure that the project was not only feasible, but also aligned with the priorities of Ford Heights residents. Gooseberry Solar is expected to be energized in 2024 and will provide cost savings on utility bills of local subscribers.
