Located on the western edge of the City of Rockford, Rock Cut Solar was born out of a vision of clean energy as a solution to the community’s challenges. This project is guided by the Rock Cut Solar Partnership, a team of community leaders and organizations who assisted with community engagement efforts throughout Rockford.

Currently, under construction, the project is creating union jobs and, once energized, will bring cost savings to community solar subscribers' utility bills. Rock Cut Solar is slated for energization in the summer of 2025.

Our community deserves clean energy. Our community deserves an investment from our state legislature and our city governments. This is our time. Rockford is poised and in a position to be able to tip the scales in every aspect of who we are and what we do. The work that’s being done in this community is incredible.
