Hal grew up in New Jersey, and moved to Illinois in 1993 to work as an environmental lawyer at Abbott Laboratories. He lives in Evanston and has been very active as a board member of Citizens’ Greener Evanston, helping the City implement its Climate Action & Resilience Plan.
Hal graduated from Williams College, in Massachusetts, with a B.A. in Biology, from the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, with a M.S. in Water Resource Management, and from the University of Colorado, in Boulder, with a J.D. He has been a practicing environmental lawyer most of his career, and also spent eleven years as a researcher and policy advocate for the Center for Neighborhood Technology, in Chicago.
Hal is very excited to be learning as much as he can about the critical and growing field for renewable energy, and in particular helping individuals, business and faith communities, schools and municipalities go solar to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
