Trajectory Energy Partners, a solar energy development company, is filling an External Affairs Analyst position to support our external relations and community engagement efforts. Trajectory Energy Partners works with communities across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic to develop community solar and utility scale solar projects.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of Trajectory’s external affairs strategy.
  • Research and track legislative and regulatory processes relevant to Trajectory’s work.
  • Conduct research on policy issues, industry trends, local government activities, and community concerns.
  • Support community outreach efforts, including organizing events, meetings, and presentations.
  • Assist in stakeholder engagement activities, including building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Provide support for Trajectory’s public affairs initiatives, including advocacy efforts and responses to project-related issues.
  • Support Trajectory’s involvement in industry associations, conferences, and events.
  • Provide general administrative support as needed.

Experience and Background:

  • Confirmed ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to handle time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Proven research skills, including the ability to effectively share research findings.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interest in external affairs, community relations, or related fields.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally and work outside regular business hours as needed.
  • Knowledge of energy or renewable energy development preferred.

Position based in Illinois. Flexibility on working from home multiple days a week, and in office typically 2-3 days a week. Travel across Illinois region to work with landowners, local officials, and meet with other Trajectory team members on a semi-regular basis. Salary range is $50,000 to $70,000 depending on experience.
