Trajectory Energy Partners, a solar energy development company, is filling a Permitting Analyst position to support our zoning work for solar projects in Illinois. Trajectory Energy Partners works with communities across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic to develop community solar and utility scale solar projects.

This position will support our work to obtain zoning permits for solar projects by analyzing and researching relevant zoning and permitting requirements, and completing applications for permitting approvals. More information on the company can be found at: www.trajectoryenergy.com

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Gather and analyze relevant zoning and permitting requirements for proposed solar projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams to assess permitting requirements and constraints.
  • Prepare and complete permit application materials in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate with local government officials, zoning boards, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate the permitting process.
  • Monitor and track the progress of zoning permit applications, and address any issues or concerns as they arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of zoning permits and approvals.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams on zoning-related matters.
  • Stay updated on changes to zoning regulations and requirements that may impact solar project development.

Experience and Background:

  • Experience in permitting, zoning, land use planning, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of zoning regulations and processes.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply zoning ordinances and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with local governments is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools.

Position based in Illinois. Flexibility on working from home multiple days a week, and in office typically 2-3 days a week. Travel across the Illinois region to work with local officials, attend public hearings, and meet with other Trajectory team members on a semi-regular basis. Salary range is $50,000 to $70,000 depending on experience.
